CCTV Project ★
There was a class project to introduce about Japanese culture at CCTV, which is a local TV studio in Salem. It is showed only by section 5 and 6 students at TIUA. They are lucky!! Why? Because they can be TV stars. Also, they get to represent Japan. First, they made groups. Then they chose their topics. They prepared for a performance at CCTV for a long time. They had to make long sentences to introduce Japanese culture. It was kind of hard to make. But before they performed at CCTV, they performed at an elementary school so they could practice. They had to speak clearly, loudly and so on. At the CCTV studio, they performed like it was a real TV performance. There were big cameras, many lights. Also they put on microphones. It was a great experience!!

Pleasant Cafe
Does everyone need a relaxing place? How about The Bistro at Willamette University? Willamette students Eric Fishman and John Donovan thought that campus had a problem. There was no place to hang out to eat something. The Bistro was built in 1986 as a place where students can hang out in the evening after cafeterias closed for dinner. The Bistro’s slogan is “A student-run business”. All of work in there is by students. The Bistro has high standards for their foods and beverages. There is various kind of menu such as coffee, other beverages, cookies, bagels and so on. The Bistro serves their products as soon as possible after made. Everything people see in The Bistro’s case is fresh! On weekdays, people can go there until 1:00 am!! The Bistro is always bustling. Everyone often can see people in The Bistro at night. There, people can hear music agreeable to the occasion and study with relax.
